About
I'm not a lawyer. Here's why this site exists anyway.
My name is Francisco Infante. I'm a researcher by training — I've spent years investigating how systems work and where they fail people. Most of my published work is in ethics and consumer behavior, not US consumer-protection law. I'm based in Chile, not the United States.
So why am I writing about how to cancel US subscriptions?
Because the system is broken, and the existing resources are either corporate blogs trying to upsell you services, or PDFs from county libraries that nobody updates. After spending hours trying to cancel a US-based service from outside the US, I realized: dark patterns aren't a bug. They're a business model. Companies engineer cancellation flows to be slow, confusing, and humiliating — because every minute you spend trying to leave is another minute they keep your money.
This site is my answer.
Here's my commitment to you
- Every claim is sourced. Each cancellation flow is verified personally, and the official source is linked at the bottom of every page.
- I show my work. The methodology page explains exactly how each company page is built and verified.
- I'm honest about my limits. If you need legal advice, see a lawyer. This site gives you informed starting points, not legal counsel.
- I update when I'm wrong. Found an error? Contact me. Every correction is logged publicly on the page where the error appeared.
- I disclose every affiliate link. Some of the tools recommended on this site (Rocket Money, Trim, DoNotPay) pay a commission if you sign up. This is how the site stays free. I only recommend tools I'd use myself. See the affiliate disclosure.
